Jaguar XF gear selector dial stuck down

Jaguar XF gear selector

Internal component malfunction of the gear selector dial is a common failure for Jaguar XF models built between 2007 and 2015 (X250). Failure of the gear selector dial to rise will prevent gear selection of all drive modes, leaving the vehicle stuck in park. When using diagnostic scan tools fault codes may also be found for P176C-11 - Transmission Range Selector Lock Control Error.

If you have this problem with your Jaguar XF you may have been told that you need to purchase an expensive replacement gear selector module due to the dial being stuck down.

This will also need coding at an extra expense and will only come with a short one-year manufacturer warranty.

We can offer a better solution – a test and rebuild of your original gear selector unit, without the need for programming once you receive it back.

Our in house R&D team have identified common manufacturing defects and have developed a rebuild solution that can be turned around within 2-3 working days, all with an unlimited mile Lifetime Warranty.

My Jaguar XE 2.0L petrol model year 2017 has a part number marked on it that differs from the numbers you show. Its marked 160201-01 and HX73-7E453-AE. Is this a problem?
