VW & Audi DSG Gearbox ECU

VW Audi mechatronic DSG fault

VW and Audi DSG Gearbox ECU problem (Mechatronic Control Module Fault)

Malfunction of the 6-speed DSG transmission ECU is very common across all Audi and Volkswagen vehicles with this Mechatronic gearbox.

Failure usually begins intermittently with the P R N D S lights flashing and the gearbox dropping into neutral (N) position, worryingly this also happens whilst driving. When parked the gearbox may fail to select forward or reverse gears leaving the vehicle stranded with no way to move it until the vehicle has cooled down.

These faults will always become more permanent with time. When presented with a failure of the 6-speed DSG Mechatronic you may think to replace the part with an expensive new unit from manufacturer as your only option. However, the common faults with these units are inherent and have not been worked-out at manufacturer level. Meaning that short 1-year warranty you get with new will not be sufficient to cover the impending malfunction.

We offer a better solution: we test and rebuild your own unit, keeping all original programming, and work-out the faults present since manufacture level. This will be completed in 2-3 working days and our Lifetime warranty will provide peace of mind, though we expect the rebuilt unit not to fail anyway.

Common Failure symptoms:

  • PRNDS flashing
  • Loss of forward and reverse gears
  • Dropping out of gear while driving
  • No communication to the gearbox ECU

Common fault codes:

  • P0751 17135 – Shift Solenoid 1 (N88) Short To Ground
  • P0756 17140 – Shift Solenoid 2 (N89) Short To Ground
  • P0761 17145 - Shift Solenoid 3 (N90) Short To Ground
  • P0766 17150 - Shift Solenoid 4 (N91) Short To Ground
  • P0746 17130 – Pressure Control Solenoid 1 (N215) Short To Earth
  • P0776 17160 – Pressure Control Solenoid 2 (N216) Short To Earth
  • P0716 17100 - Transmission Input Speed Sensor (G182) Implausible Signal
  • P0722 17106 - Transmission Output Speed Sensor (G195): No Signal
  • P1707 18115 – Interference In Mechatronic Module

Hello. I am wondering how much on average you charge to rebuild a dsg gearbox Mechatronics. It is from a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta tdi 1.9. If Id chose to have you test the Mechatronics how much would the test be and if it is bad is that included in the whole price of the rebuild or will there be a separate charge for the text and rebuild?
