VW Golf / Audi A3 ABS Pump - Causing light to remain on

TT Golf A3 ABS Fault

This VW Golf ABS pump and motor, also fitted to Audi A3 and TT vehicles, is an extremely common failing part. Failure of this unit will cause the constant illumination of the ABS warning light and will prevent full operation of the emergency braking system, leaving only standard braking in effect.

Commonly we see an extensive amount of these ABS units sent into us for rebuild for the following fault codes: 01130 – ABS Operation Implausible Signal, 16352 – Control Module Defective and 01276 – ABS Hydraulic Pump (V64). Unlike the earlier generation which suffered with internal faults in the ABS hydraulic section, this archetype will generally fail with electronic faults within the module itself. Of course, with this iteration spanning over 10 years and multiple vehicles, there is still a substantial amount of faults that we see relating to the ABS motor, block and pump which will all cause the VW Golf, Audi A3 and TT ABS light to remain on.

With no repair kits available from the manufacturer, the usual fix is often to seek resolution to the ABS light being on for the VW Golf / Audi A3 and TT; via purchasing a full ABS pump replacement and fitting this to the vehicle. This means that you will also have to pay out for coding. When a new unit is purchased from the manufacturer it will still have the original design flaw, meaning that even new pumps are susceptible to malfunction!

Our solution is much more efficient; we can fully rebuild the original unit, working-out the design flaw, for a fraction of the cost of a new unit. Unlike the short one-year manufacturer warranty on a brand-new unit, all our rebuilds carry an unlimited mile Lifetime Warranty* as standard, so there really is a significant benefit to both your wallet and peace of mind.

Common Failure symptoms:

  • ABS light on
  • ESP light on / traction control light
  • No communication to the ABS module
  • No ABS assisted braking
  • Pump motor constantly running

 Common fault codes:

  • 01130 - Abs Operation Implausible Signal
  • 16352 - Control Module Defective
  • 01276 - ABS Hydraulic Pump (V64)

Test and rebuild:

Each VW/Audi ABS pump, module and motor is comprehensively tested, before and after rebuild, using our bespoke Hardware In-the-Loop test rig. By simulating real world driving conditions and by testing these ABS units beyond the operating parameters of the vehicle we know that once rebuilt: it will outlast the vehicle.

Programming:

We retain all the original programming from your ABS pump and module during test and rebuild. So, no need for any programming or coding work once you receive it back

Quality:

Due to our extremely high standards and a work defect rate lower than 0.49% on all of our rebuilds, we can confidently offer an unlimited mile Lifetime Warranty. Our strict quality control incorporates testing, ESD safety, components, workmanship, even down to securely packaging your unit for delivery back to you: all areas must meet our very high warranty standards.
