Toyota MMT (Multimode) Clutch Actuator / Gearbox Malfunction

Toyota MMT (Multimode) Clutch Actuator / Gearbox Malfunction

These clutch and gear actuators fitted to the Toyota Multimode Transmission (MMT) gearboxes will often fail preventing gear selection which will leave the affected vehicle undrivable. This loss of drive will often also cause the N symbol to flash on the gear selection screen.

Whilst most of these faults happen whilst the vehicle is stationary, just after ignition on, these issues can happen whilst driving which will cause the gearbox to drop out of the current gear back into neutral, really not the best time to fail while in traffic.

The vehicle range afflicted with these troublesome Toyota MMT clutch actuator and gear selector parts include the Yaris, Aygo, Corolla and Auris. Commonly these vehicles will store fault codes including P0810 – clutch position control error and P0900 – clutch actuator circuit which are often a clear indication that one, or even both, of these actuators has failed.

Toyota main dealerships and specialists will usually seek to resolve these Multi Mode Transmission problems by replacing both the clutch actuator, gear selector and the clutch itself along with a lengthy clutch re-learn procedure. All of this is time, labour and expense that is usually not necessary.

Our solution to the Toyota MMT clutch actuator and gear selector problem is a full rebuild of these actuators for a fraction of the cost of new replacements. Unlike the short one-year warranty provided with replacements from the manufacturer; we provide an unlimited mile lifetime warranty*. So you really are getting the best of both – a cheaper alternative to a new set of actuators with a much much longer warranty to boot.

Test and rebuild:

Our custom built state of the art HIL (Hardware In-the-Loop) testing rig allows us to run these actuators under real-world load and driving conditions. Once all internal faults have been identified our technicians will rebuild the actuator and replace all common failing components with versions that are higher rated than standard, and then extensively re-test to ensure that no faults remain. This means that your rebuilt actuator will perform as good as, if not better than a brand new replacement unit.

Programming:

These actuators are not coded, no need for any re-coding once you receive it back, just simply plug and play.

Quality:

Our strict quality control: encompassing testing, components and workmanship will ensure only the highest level of work is carried out to meet our lifetime warranty standards. Due to our extremely high standards we work very closely with dealerships and specialists, offering a better solution to replacement. Our work defect rate is lower than 0.6% on all of our rebuilds, so you can be assured of our very high standard of work.

Wat will the clutch actuator do when faulty
ECU Admin says: 14/8/2019 4:15:20 PM
Hi Vincent, if you have a faulty MMT clutch actuator then the vehicle will not select gear so you will experience no drive. If you scan your vehicle with diagnostics you may also find fault codes for P0900 – clutch actuator circuit and/or P0810 – clutch position control error. If you would like us to test your MMT clutch actuator then please fill in the test form: https://myaccount.ecutesting.com/?return=/TestForm&lang=en-GB
