Suzuki Swift ABS pump fault – causing ESP light to stay on

Suzuki Swift ABS pump pressure fault

This Suzuki Swift ABS pump is a very common failing part, causing constant illumination of the ESP light. When this ABS pump fails, it will prevent full operation of the ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), leaving only standard braking in effect.

We see a substantial amount these ABS units sent to us for rebuild due to internal component failure; causing the fault code “C1028 – Brake Pressure Sensor Circuit Defective” and the ESP warning light to remain on. You will notice that pressing the traction control (ESP) button will not turn the light out either.

We urge you to think twice about purchasing and fitting a brand-new unit straight from manufacturer. A new unit is very expensive, has a very short (1 year) warranty and will eventually suffer the common issues as the root cause has not been revised at the factory.

Our solution for this issue is a much more effective approach; we can fully rebuild the original unit for a fraction of the cost of a new unit. Unlike the short one-year manufacturer warranty on a brand-new unit, all of our rebuilds carry an unlimited mile Lifetime Warranty* as standard, so there really is a significant benefit on both your wallet and peace of mind.

Test and rebuild:

Every ABS pump and module is fully tested before any rebuild work is carried out. Each ABS pump and module unit is extensively run on our state-of-the-art custom built rigs. Our Hardware In-the-Loop (HIL) rigs allow us to run these ABS units under real world load and driving conditions. Once the unit is identified as faulty, we then move onto the rebuild stage. Each unit is fully stripped, all common failing components are then replaced with versions that are higher rated than standard. Once the rebuild is complete, we then retest the ABS pump and module to ensure it functions in accordance with the manufacturers original specification.

Programming:

We retain all the original programming from your ABS pump and module during test and rebuild. So, no need for any programming or coding work once you receive it back.

I have this problem with my 2011 swift. It got to a point sometimes the car losses power on hilly climbs and comes to a complete stop. The diagnosis says something on ABS sensors fault.

Hi Elisha, it sounds as though you may have a faulty ABS pump, if you have the fault code 'C1028 - brake pressure sensor circuit defective' stored within the ABS system then your ABS pump is definitely faulty. If you want to get your ABS pump rebuilt by us then you can see the full price and shipping instructions on this link: https://www.ecutesting.com/product-catalogue/suzuki/swift/abs-pump-ecumodule-combined/amc952003/

Hi Joe, it is fairly common for the ABS hydraulic block to leak, this would require a replacement ABS unit. We can test your unit and replace it if faulty. If you get the part number that is printed on your ABS and select your unit from this list: https://www.ecutesting.com/product-catalogue/suzuki/swift/abs-pump-ecumodule-combined/ then you will see the full price and shipping information for your unit.
