Mercedes Sprinter rear lights and headlights failure – plus indicator fault

Mercedes Sprinter lighting control module fault

Common loss of rear lights, headlights and indicator functionality is caused by malfunction of the comfort/lighting control module fitted to the Mercedes Sprinter built between 2006 and 2019..

Internal component breakdown of the module will often affect the left hand side of the vehicle, however as the fault progresses it is not uncommon to see sudden and complete failure of the headlights, indicators and rear lights.

When using scan tools on the vehicle fault codes may be found for 903C - Left Turn Signal Indicator Short To Earth and 9033 - Left Brake Light Short To Earth. There are also instances where the lighting module fails to establish communications altogether.

We are no longer reconditioning customers own Sprinter lighting control modules, but replacements are available from online specialists including: https://auto24parts.com/en_GB/c/COMFORT-CONTROL-MODULE/794 and https://www.worldecu.com/en/fuse-box-bsi
