Jeep Patriot & Grand Cherokee ABS light – Caused by ABS fault C2116

Jeep ABS rebuild

The hugely popular Jeep Grand Cherokee (2002-11) and the, now discontinued, Patriot (2007-17) models both have common failing ABS units. The fault manifests itself with the prevention of full emergency braking assistance and the ABS light staying on constantly.

With the Patriot and Jeep Grand Cherokee abs light remaining lit, you’ll want to have the vehicle checked diagnostically by a mechanic. When the Jeep is scanned with a diagnostic tool, the fault code C2116 - ABS Pump Motor Low Voltage will often be stored and any attempt at clearing the code will be in vain as the C2116 error code on Jeep Patriots and Grand Cherokees indicates a failure within the ABS pump and module itself. Most garages will seek to resolve this ABS issue by purchasing a replacement part. However, this is expensive, stock may be on back-order and, actually, it is not the most effective solution. You see, the original design flaw in the ABS has not been rectified at production level, meaning that all ABS units coming off the factory line will have this internal flaw and failure will be a time bomb waiting to happen., and you will only get a 1-year warranty. Not only this, but you will also need to have the replacement coded at extra expense.

We say this is not good enough. Instead:

We offer a more cost effective solution – a rebuild of your original ABS pump and module and we’ll give it an unlimited mile Lifetime Warranty as standard. It only takes 2-3 working days and you won’t even need to have it recoded when you receive it back!

Test and rebuild:

Every ABS pump we rebuild is tested on our bespoke HIL (Hardware In-the Loop) test rig both before and after the process. This involves simulating real driving conditions including wheel speed, body roll, accelerometer input as well brake pressure to make sure it can withstand anything that might happen while you're behind the wheel! We also test the unit beyond operating parameters of vehicle to ensure that the rebuilt ABS will outlast the vehicle.

The ABS unit is coded to the vehicle on installation, whilst testing and rebuilding all this information is retained. This means you can refit back to the vehicle without the need for expensive coding.

The work we do is without a doubt the best in our industry and it shows with an impressive 0.49% defect rate across all rebuilds. We're proud that many major dealerships trust us enough to use as their go-to service provider for high quality rebuilds, all backed by our unlimited mile Lifetime Warranty.
