Hyundai Tucson ABS pump/module fault

Hyundai Tucson ABS fault

This ABS pump is a common problem for the Hyundai Tucson 2004 – 2010, the common symptom is the illumination of the ABS light or the ‘ESP Off’ button.

There are two main failures for this type of ABS pump and module, both will cause the illumination of the warning lights and prevent the full operation of the emergency braking system.

This ABS pump and module will either fail to achieve communications with diagnostic tools, and therefore any other electronic component in the vehicle or will store a fault code for the hydraulic pump motor.

When presented with this failure Hyundai main dealerships and specialists will seek to replace the ABS pump and module with a new one from manufacturer, this can prove to be very expensive.

We offer a better solution to this: we can rebuild customers own Tucson ABS pumps or supply replacement units when in stock, all our work comes with a Lifetime* unlimited mileage warranty as standard.

Each unit is fully stripped, all common failing components are then replaced with versions that are higher rated than standard. Once the rebuild is complete, we then retest the ABS pump and module to ensure it functions in accordance with the manufacturers original specification.

Hi Downton Service Station, the fault codes you describe are related to the ABS pump motor, internal valve relay and wheel speed sensor. Firstly you would need to check that you have good earth and 12V feed to the ABS unit (make sure these are tested under an electrical load), also a continuity check of the wiring to the wheel speed sensor and the sensor itself should be performed. If this all proves to be fine then it is likely that the ABS pump/module is faulty.
