Ford Mondeo MK4 instrument cluster problems – gauges and dash lights stop working

Ford Mondeo MK4 instrument cluster problems

This Ford Mondeo MK4 instrument cluster which commonly causes gauges and dash lights to stop working, will also affect other models fitted with this same cluster including Galaxy, S-Max, Focus, C-Max and Kuga built between 2004 to 2014.

We see a substantial amount of this type of instrument cluster coming to us for rebuild due to internal component failure, causing problems including loss of gauges/needles, loss of all display, dash lights and backlights, cutting out of the vehicle and even complete non-start. Alternatively, all the warning lights may be illuminated and the LCD screen may reveal an Engine Malfunction warning message. All of these faults, and others, are common for the Ford Mondeo MK4 instrument cluster.
When diagnosing the vehicle, you may not be able to achieve communications with the instrument cluster, but fault codes will be stored in other vehicle systems that complain of no communication with instrument cluster or immobilisation fault codes.

To resolve this instrument cluster problem, you don’t need to seek to replace the cluster from manufacturer at a high cost, this will then require coding to the vehicle, meaning that it will also require additional labour over and above just removal and refitting.

Thankfully there is a more cost effective and reliable solution. We offer test and rebuild of this dashboard cluster, this is a fully re-engineered solution with all common failing components upgraded to higher rated than standard versions. Our test and rebuild service will save you a lot of time and money, and due to our high standard of work we provide an unlimited mileage Lifetime Warranty*

Test and rebuild:
Every MK4 Mondeo instrument cluster is fully tested before any rebuild work is carried out. Using our in-house testing rigs and procedures we are able to test all instrument and warning light functions including all LCD display functions. Once the unit is identified as faulty, we then move onto the rebuild stage. Each unit is fully stripped, all common failing components are then replaced with versions that are higher rated than standard. Once the rebuild is complete, we then retest the instrument cluster to ensure it functions in accordance with the manufacturer’s original specification.

We retain all the original programming from your instrument cluster during test and rebuild. So, no need for any programming or coding work once you receive it back.

Our strict quality control: encompassing testing, components and workmanship will ensure only the highest level of work is carried out to meet our lifetime warranty standards. Due to our extremely high standards we work very closely with dealerships and specialists, offering a better solution to replacement. Our work defect rate is lower than 0.49% on all of our rebuilds, so you can be assured of our very high standard of work.

Lifetime unlimited mileage*
