The first-generation A3 is fitted with an ATE MK20 ABS module. When this control unit fails, it’ll cause the ABS warning light to illuminate and a 01276 DTC for ‘ABS pump’ to store. Concerningly, ABS assistance is completely lost when the MK20 fails, leaving the vehicle with just standard braking in effect.

Following the second-generation’s facelift, the Audi A3 began being fitted with a MK61 unit, which is unfortunately one of the most commonly failing ABS modules ATE ever produced.

2012-2022 Audi A3 ABS Module Repair
The third-generation Audi A3 was fitted with ATE’s most recent significant ABS unit release, the MK100. The second-and-third-generation A3s did overlap slightly during late 2012 / early 2013, however the MK100 can only be found on third-generation (8V) models.
Unlike its predecessors, the MK100 isn’t particularly susceptible to control module faults. Instead, the MK100 is incredibly vulnerable to a design flaw which causes hydraulic pressure faults in the braking system.
This malfunction causes the vehicle’s brakes to apply unexpectedly, and alarmingly, this isn’t accompanied by any warning lights or fault codes.

Send us your package by tracked courier (the shipping instructions are on the confirmation email).
Once received we will test, rebuild and return your ABS unit with an unlimited mileage lifetime warranty. If your unit turns out not to be faulty then we will refund your payment less a small testing fee and return shipping.
