This water damaged ECU is a very common failure for Peugeot 207 & 206 vehicles built between 2005 and 2011, the common issue is coolant contamination into the wiring harness that travels via ‘capillary action’ up to the plug of the ECU, once the water from the coolant system reaches the ECU it causes the ECU terminals to corrode causing open circuits for various sensors and actuators, this results in host of running problems for the engine. The most common issues seen are engine misfires, engine not revving properly due to throttle position faults, engine won’t start or cuts out, normally the Anti-pollution light will also be illuminated on the instrument cluster. When diagnosing, the fault using a diagnostic scanner there will usually be fault codes stored for the throttle position sensors, injector circuits, coolant/air temperature sensor faults or O2 sensor faults. Often the fault is initially misdiagnosed since the fault codes are blaming other sensors on the car, which can lead to replacing these sensors unnecessarily before identifying that the ECU is the cause of the fault. We are able fully rebuild your water damaged ECU and supply an unlimited mileage lifetime warranty*
Common symptoms of water damaged ECU:
Engine cutting out
Engine will not start
Fault codes for throttle position sensors
Fault codes for coolant temp sensor
Fault codes for O2 sensor
Common fault codes:
(you may only get one or two of the following fault codes when your ECU fails)
P0121 – Signal incoherence between motorised throttle signals 1 and 2
P1161 – Throttle position regulation
P1631 – Engine ECU internal
P1340 – Engine misfire detected
P0123 – Throttle position sensor
P2176 – Programming of the motorised throttle limp home coherence
P0135 – O2 heating implausible signal
P0115 – Engine coolant temperature sensor fault
P0110 – Intake air temperature sensor circuit fault

Rebuild vs replacement:
We fully test and rebuild your own ECU and supply a lifetime warranty* (a new unit from the dealer only comes with a 1 year warranty). Because these ECU’s are coded to your vehicle it is not possible to fit a used ECU from another vehicle due to the immobiliser programming preventing it running on your vehicle. When we rebuild your own ECU, we retain all of the original immobiliser programming and vehicle option coding so that it can be just plugged back in after the rebuild and driven away.
We rebuild these Peugeot ECU’s for main dealers and specialists all over the globe so you can be assured of our very high standard of work.
There is no need for any programming once you receive your rebuilt ECU back, just plug in and away you go.
Our rebuilds come with an unlimited mileage lifetime warranty*
Payment - If you would like to have your own unit fully rebuilt then you have two options regarding payment:
Pay in advance:
This option will allow you to pay for the rebuild in advance of the ECU arriving with us, this is the faster option as we will not need to contact you once your unit has been tested, we will just go ahead with the rebuild if it is faulty and then send it straight back to you. To pay in advance for this service please choose your vehicle from the list above and click the 'Get yours rebuilt' option.
Pay after testing:
With this option, we will contact you after we have received and fully tested your ECU, we will then give you the results of the testing and if it is faulty you can then decide if you want us to go ahead with the rebuild or not, it is at this point you would need to pay. This option is a little slower but gives you greater control over whether you want the unit rebuilding or not once it has been tested. If you prefer this option, then please fill in this test form and we will immediately email you with full shipping instructions.
If you require further information regarding this ECU then please contact us.
