This MiTo Electric Power steering column is a very common failure; you will find that the steering becomes heavy in one or both directions intermittently. If it is left for long enough then the problem will eventually become permanent.
You may find that the following fault code is stored when you communicate with the steering column via diagnostic: C1002 - Steering Column Torque Position Sensor. Clearing the fault code may temporarily resolve the problem but then it will return once the fault is logged again. We can rebuild customers own electric power steering columns or supply replacement units from stock when available.

Package the electric power steering column inside a sturdy box with plenty of packaging material (make sure you include your confirmation email in the box).
Send us your package by tracked courier (the shipping instructions are on the confirmation email).
Once received we will test, rebuild and return your EPS column with an unlimited mileage lifetime warranty. (if your unit turns out not to be faulty then we will refund your payment less a small testing fee and return shipping)

Once received, we will test your electric power steering and call you to advise on the outcome of testing, if your unit is faulty and you choose to go ahead with the rebuild then we will take payment over the phone using a debit/credit card.
