Peugeot Boxer ABS failure – common ABS pump issue.

Peugeot Boxer ABS fault

This is a very common fault for the Peugeot Boxer 2011 – 2014 that causes the ABS & EBD failure message to illuminate on the instrument cluster, failure is often temperature related so the fault can sometimes rectify itself as the engine heats up.

Checking for fault codes will reveal a fault code stored of ‘P0500 – Vehicle Speed Sensor Failure’ within the engine system, but there will be no fault codes stored in the ABS system. Failure normally also causes the engine management light to illuminate with the engine running in ‘restricted mode’.

The fault is caused by internal failure of the ABS pump, replacing this with a new ABS pump is very expensive and you only get a one-year warranty from the manufacturer. We are now able to fully rebuild your own unit and provide an unlimited mileage lifetime warranty* for a small fraction of the cost of a new unit.

Test and rebuild:

Every unit is tested before any work is carried out to ensure it is faulty, once the fault is confirmed we then go ahead and rebuild the ABS pump. Once the rebuild is complete we then retest the ABS unit to ensure it is functioning correctly and within original manufacturers specifications. All testing is performed on our bespoke vehicle simulators to fully replicate all loads and driving conditions.

Programming:

No programming required when refitting the rebuilt ABS pump, it is a simple case of plugging it back in, bleed the braking system and drive away.
