Freelander 2 and Range Rover Evoque turbo actuator problems – causing limp home mode.

Freelander 2 and Range Rover Evoque turbo actuator problems

This turbo actuator is specifically fitted to 2.2L Duratorq engine vehicles including: Freelander 2 and Range Rover Evoque. The turbo actuator is designed purposely for the Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT Turbo system).

Common malfunctions associated with manufacturing defects internal to the turbo actuator will cause restricted performance and an associated limp home mode, poor turbo boost and the constant illumination of the engine management light (EML). The Freelander 2 and Range Rover Evoque will often be forced into a limp home mode state due to failure of the boost control solenoid / turbo actuator. This actuator malfunction will cause running symptoms that may begin as intermittent, however when left will become permanent in nature, leading to the engine management light to become perpetually lit on ignition cycle.

For the Freelander 2 and Range Rover Evoque, these turbo actuators are not available to purchase separately and are only sold from the manufacturer as part of a full turbo replacement. A second-hand actuator replacement would not work due to these being factory mapped/programmed to the specific parameters of the turbo it came from, fitting a second-hand turbo actuator will causes issues with the turbo and engine management system.

Our rebuild option for this turbo actuator will save you over a thousand pounds and provide added peace of mind with our unlimited mile lifetime warranty*

Our rigorous turbo actuator testing will determine the root cause of each individual failure. Each actuator is fully tested using our Hardware In-the-Loop vehicle simulator which will test under real-world conditions. Once the root cause of failure has been identified our highly skilled technicians will replace all common failing components, we then transfer all calibration and mapping data back into the rebuild turbo actuator. We only use OEM or above rated components, and unlike the factory environment of the manufactures, our quality control is second to none.

Programming:

This turbo actuator is pre-coded at manufacture level to the turbocharger, all original programming and mapping data is retained following the rebuild of your unit – no need for any reprogramming or mapping once your receive your rebuild unit back. Simply refit and away you go.
